This authentic, hand-painted, original Oil Painting, presumably 19th Century, presents a small rural scene with a cottage, snowy roof, a figure near the doorway and a stretch of marshy ground leading to water. The visible surface shows aged varnish and a quietly cracked paint layer with subtle impasto in places that catch the light. The ornate carved and gilded frame is visible around the image and adds a richly textured border that complements the picture. This one-of-a-kind work has a lived-in patina that will appeal to collectors seeking genuine period character. Presumably 19th Century . The painting measures 41 × 36 cm (16.1 × 14.2 inches) (framed, if shown) and weighs: 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). If you see a frame in the pictures, it comes with the artwork :)
