This authentic, hand-painted, original Oil Painting from the 19th Century presents a close-up portrait of a woman with dark hair and a pale head covering against a muted, dark background. The face and shoulders are rendered with soft, careful tones and visible craquelure across the paint surface that speaks to the work’s age. Broad, visible brushwork in the veil and highlights and the slightly rough texture of the paint give the piece a tactile, lived-in character. As a one-of-a-kind original, it would add historic presence to a thoughtful collection. 19th Century. The painting measures 38 × 47 cm (15.0 × 18.5 inches) (framed, if shown) and weighs: 0.7 kg (1.5 lbs). If you see a frame in the pictures, it comes with the artwork :)
