This authentic, hand-painted, original Oil Painting dates to the Mid 20th Century and is a one-of-a-kind work. The scene shows a small frozen river or pond with figures skating near bare trees and a thatched cottage under a pale sky. You can see the layered brushwork and slight impasto in the paint surface, especially in the ice and tree branches. The rich, carved frame and warm gilt inner liner set off the subtle winter palette for an immediate collector appeal. Mid 20th Century. The painting measures 41 × 36 cm (16.1 × 14.2 inches) (framed, if shown) and weighs: 1.6 kg (3.5 lbs). If you see a frame in the pictures, it comes with the artwork :)
