Shown here is the painted wooden stretcher and the canvas reverse, with visible staples securing the fabric and a hanging wire attached to metal D-rings. The painted back shows worn areas, scuffs and small losses in the burgundy paint, and observable brush marks and textured paint build-up along the edges. This one-of-a-kind work retains its original hand-applied surface and character. Late 20th Century. The painting measures 45 × 40 cm (17.7 × 15.7 inches).
