This authentic, hand-painted, original Aquarel dates to the Early 20th Century and presents a softly rendered pastoral scene of a shepherd and flock on a muted, atmospheric ground. The visible surface shows delicate, layered washes and small areas of craquelure, with subtle brushwork that builds depth in the trees and sheep. Warm, aged tones read through the paint surface and pair nicely with the gilt, beaded inner border and ornate outer frame. As a one-of-a-kind work, it offers collectors an intimate example of period watercolor technique and patina. Early 20th Century. The painting measures 49 × 41 cm (19.3 × 16.1 inches) (framed, if shown) and weighs: 1.9 kg (4.2 lbs). If you see a frame in the pictures, it comes with the artwork :)
