This authentic, hand-painted, original Oil Painting dated Year 1826 shows an intimate domestic scene with a woman in a red headscarf and a child in a pale dress embracing in front of a dark background. The warm, aged varnish and visible craquelure give the painted surface a patina that speaks to its age. Close inspection reveals confident, textured brushwork in the faces and clothing, with softer handling in the shadowed areas. One of a kind and richly expressive, this piece would make a distinguished addition to a collector's cabinet of period portraits. Artist: Otto de Boer. Year 1826. The painting measures 83.5 × 98 cm (32.9 × 38.6 inches) (framed, if shown) and weighs: 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs). If you see a frame in the pictures, it comes with the artwork :)
