This authentic, hand-painted, original Oil Painting dates presumably 19th Century and presents a restrained portrait of an older woman set against a dark, plain background. The sitter’s lace cap, pale face and folded hands are rendered with careful, visible brushwork and a slightly glossy paint surface that catches light across the forehead and collar. The deep black background and the dark clothing focus attention on the sitter’s features and the textured strokes of the veil. One of a kind and ready to join a collector’s cabinet of antique portraiture. Presumably 19th Century . The painting measures 77 × 89 cm (30.3 × 35.0 inches) (framed, if shown) and weighs: 6 kg (13.2 lbs). If you see a frame in the pictures, it comes with the artwork :)
