Fleur studied at the academies of Rotterdam and The Hague and became well-known for his refined floral still lifes. His works are characterized by precise brushwork, soft tones, and often include elegant vases or oriental decorative objects, as seen in this composition. This large signed painting captures a vibrant bouquet of yellow flowers arranged in a silver vase, with a porcelain figurine and a glass bowl adding depth and charm.
